Summary
Tappy is a macOS utility that provides local auditory feedback in response to physical typing activity across your Mac. Tappy does not record, sell, or transmit your typed text.
What Tappy accesses
Tappy uses macOS Input Monitoring so it can trigger local auditory feedback while you type in other apps.
- Tappy listens for physical key codes and modifier keys to choose which local feedback cue to play.
- Tappy does not read the characters or words you type.
- Tappy does not record or store the text you type as user content.
- Tappy does not upload your typing to a remote server.
- You can turn off Input Monitoring for Tappy at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Input Monitoring.
Data collection
Tappy does not require account creation and does not use a backend service for core functionality.
- No account data is collected by Tappy itself.
- No cloud sync is required for sound packs or settings.
- Purchase processing for premium feedback packs is handled by Stripe Checkout.
Local data
Tappy stores basic local preferences on your Mac, such as the currently selected feedback pack and premium unlock state.
Third-party services
If you purchase premium content, Stripe may process purchase-related data under Stripe’s own policies. Review Stripe’s privacy information for those details.
